WHAT IS THE KINGDOM RUNNING CLUB (KRC)?

  • KRC offers a 9-month Program (for ages 16 & older) that combines both Education and
    Fitness Training in preparation to run a Marathon held annually during the months of
    September and October.
  • Program is also available to 14 years and above training for the Half-Marathon.
    The KRC of Living Word Christian Center has been in existence for 15 training
    seasons. 2018 will be our 16th season of training individuals to run marathons.
  • Runners from the KRC have completed marathons in many states.
  • Our Runners have participated in Ultra-Marathons, Iron Mans, Half-Iron Mans,
    Marathons, Half-Marathons, Triathlons, 200 mile relays and many other races.

 

WHO CAN APPLY FOR REGISTRATION?

Application for Registration is open to all individuals.
Please Note: Applicants are strongly advised to consult their doctor before beginning
training program.
First Time Marathoners (Approved Applicants) can not miss more than three consecutive
classes to maintain their active status in the program. No exceptions please.


WHAT IS THE COST OF THE PROGRAM?
  • Registration Fee = $100.00
  • Runner is responsible for race registration and running gear.

Open Registration- Mid-January through Class 3 (On-site once class starts)

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM CONSIST OF?
Educational Training Classes will be held Saturday Mornings (7:00-10:30 am) during
February thru April at the Forest Park Mall (unless otherwise noted).

  • Two months of class sessions.
  • In-class & take home materials.
  • Food demo/Nutritional teaching, training, & coaching by program team leaders.
  • Shoe Clinic and running apparel classes.
  • Professional training by Tri-Athletes, Personnel Fitness trainers, and Doctors.
  • Certified fitness, running, and nutritional training.
  • Seven months outdoor marathon training.
  • Weekly Training support.
  • Personalized physical fitness coaching, evaluation and feedback via email and team
    training.

Weekly Short Runs should be done on your own at least 2 times a week. Locations are based upon Runners’ proximity to local tracks/running paths in their area.

Weekly Long Runs will meet early on Saturday Mornings at either Downtown Chicago (along the Lakefront running paths) or on the Illinois Prairie Path (along the western suburbs) or as indicated.

Classes meet every Saturday from February to October. Runners are expected to maintain regular attendance; missing 3 consecutive classes will result in the runner being removed from the active roster.
