Marlene Hopkins

My name is Marlene Hopkins and I’m a new member of the Kingdom Running Club.

I wanted to share with you how moved I was last week during session and how I know I’m where God wants me to be.

I cried the first half of the session from opening prayer, praise and worship, confession and the lesson.

I’m so excited about what God is going to do through and within me during this time I’m training.

I left class on Saturday feeling renewed and ready to move mountains…my adjective is Mountain Moving Marlene.  My scripture is Mark 11:23 & 24 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.   Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

My mantra is Nothing shall be impossible unto me.

This journey of running is for the purpose of me running through all of the mountains that I’ve allowed to keep me in captivity.  The mountain of fear, mountain of rejection, mountain of low self-esteem, mountain of self-pity, and mountain of disappointment.

I love to run and desire to learn how to run.  I taught myself well enough to do several 5k’s, a couple of 10k’s, one half marathon and one 15k.  The 5 and 10k’s were great runs and even the 15k wasn’t too bad.  The half marathon demonstrated that I needed better training to do distance running.

I attempted to train one on one with a personal trainer but that proved to be a disaster.  I learned of Kingdom Running Club in an issue of Runners World Magazine and made a note to look further into it.  Before I was able to look into your club my sister said we should join the Kingdom Running Club.  I didn’t hesitate to go online and register.

I’m so excited about what God is going to do through and within me during this time.

I’m not going to be in class tomorrow as I’m traveling with my choir from Salem Baptist Church to San Jose, California to minister at the church homes of our former Youth and Young Adult Pastors.

Looking forward to class on March 4th at 7:30 am.
