Train with Purpose. Finish Strong.

Join our 9-month, faith-driven marathon training program designed for runners of all experience levels. Whether you’re tackling your first 5K, half marathon (13.1 miles), or full marathon (26.2 miles), you’ll find support, structure, and community every step of the way.

⚠️ Before beginning any intense training regimen, we strongly encourage you to consult with a medical professional.

Weekly Training Meetups

We meet every Saturday for both in-class instruction and on-the-road training:

In-Class Training (First 2.5 Months)

  • Focus: Mind renewal, nutrition, fitness, strength, proper gear, and more.

  • Format: In-person + online via Zoom

  • Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours per session (some longer; will be announced)

  • Time: Most sessions are 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM (some days start earlier at 6:30 or 7:00 AM)

  • Location: 7600 W. Roosevelt Rd, Forest Park, IL 60130

Runners Stretching

On-the-Road Training (Following 6.5 Months)

  • Focus: Weekly long runs, speed training

  • Time: Meet between 6:00 – 6:30 AM, run until completion of mileage

  • Locations:

    • Lakefront at Wilson (via Lake Shore Drive)

    • IL Prairie path at St. Johns School, Lombard, IL

Weekly Commitment

To stay active as a member of KRC, you may not miss more than **3 consecutive classes**.

You are also expected to train 5–6 days a week on your own. This includes:

  • 2 mid-week short runs (training plan provided)

  • Cross-training and rest days as outlined in your training schedule

Race Day Information

  • Race registration is the responsibility of each participant

  • We offer team registration options for the following events:

  • Other team race options will be announced throughout the program.

  • Note: Chicago Marathon is currently closed for registration

What You’ll Need

Prepare to invest in the right gear to ensure your comfort and success:

  • Running shoes (plan for 3 pairs over 9 months)

  • A timing watch or fitness tracker

  • Seasonal running attire

  • Optional but helpful accessories:

    • Running belt

    • Refillable water bottle

    • On-the-go nutrition
